Abstract
This paper presents two approaches related to the area of computer vision, where shape modelling (representation) is an essential part of every system. Specifically, the problem of ellipse fitting is approached. The developed methods deal with elongated round-ended shapes, and represent them with ellipses based on medial representation. The evaluation shows that the proposed approaches outperform the state-of-the-art techniques on the examined dataset.
