Task Description & Requirements

Develop an augmented reality simulation of the bowling process. The setup should include a physical bowling ball (e.g. enhanced with markers) which is thrown by the bowler in a stall and tracked optically. Based on the brief tracking (stall size at most 3m) direction, speed and rotation should be estimated. Then, based on the estimate the collision with the pins should be simulated by a physics engine. The rolling and collision process should be visualized on a screen (not HMD). Requires good knowledge in computer vision, game engine programming and optical tracking. If performed as a master thesis, must include a user-based evaluation.
