Task Description & Requirements

Employ and generalize an existing solution for optical tracking of body parts + markers on our Vreeclimber project so that hand, feet and climbing wall can be tracked optically. The existing solution consists of an edge computer, the PoseNet library and a WiFi backbone. Every unit transmits a constant stream of 2D position data. In this task, you have to arrange several of these units in space and time (sync) so that precise 3D tracking of body parts and markers becomes possible. The second challenge will be the integration of the tracking data with the Vreeclimber Unity game engine. Requires an interest in distributed system design. If done as a diploma thesis, must include a technical evaluation of the performance of the hardware solution.
