Abstract

The objective of this funded project is the development and implementation of a novel algorithm for mobile devices to provide an exact indoor localization of visitors to the Hofburg Vienna in real time. These algorithms for markerless tracking based on PTAM (parallel tracking and mapping), enable the visitors to experience various settings, events or configurations of the Hofburg ballroom (“Festsaal”) via Augmented Reality, for example a virtual stage for a concert or a divided room for a conference.
